xSuite Bus Prism Administration Guide

Installation

The following sections describe how to manage an installation of xSuite Bus Prism 2.6.0. Start the installation by running the set-up file. This will launch the installation wizard, which will then guide you through all the steps of the installation process.

All components required for installation and operation of xSuite Bus Prism are packaged as a setup bundle structured as a directory. It includes all components required for the installation and configuration process.

We recommend that you copy all files from the package to a separate directory on the server and execute them from there. This directory will generally be the C:\Install or D:\Install folder on the server.

Make sure that xSuite Bus Prism is installed on the same server that executes the Microsoft Internet Information Service (IIS). To minimize the effort required for configuration, the xSuite Bus Web Service should also be registered here.

Caution

It is important to keep the setup file in the delivery folder and to retain the folder structure of the xSuite Bus setup bundle delivered by xSuite Group GmbH. There are dependencies that will come up in the installation and configuration of each component of the xSuite Bus system.

In addition, you should execute the setup as an administrator to avoid errors that may arise due to a lack of authorization.

xSuite Group GmbH recommends turning off the settings of the UAC group guidelines of the Windows server.

Notice

Depending on the scenario and the document volume to be processed, the amount of storage space needed for xSuite Bus Prism may increase. Data is generally only retained in the xSuite Bus database for a limited period of time (default setting: 30 days). Therefore, over the course of the first 30 days and thereafter you should check whether the fixed disk storage space allotted actually suffices for your xSuite Bus usage.

Caution

When using the data extraction solution IRISXtract, installation of the IRIS License Server is absolutely necessary. It manages all licenses from I.R.I.S. AG and is required for the activation of the licenses. The service must always be reachable for operation of the solution IRISXtract.

The licenses from I.R.I.S. AG are connected to the hardware key of the server on which the IRIS license server is installed. If this hardware key changes, the licenses must be activated again by I.R.I.S. AG. This also applies to virtual servers and cloud servers. For this reason, when installing the IRIS License Server, it is important to make sure that server hardware does not change. This way, you will avoid needing to reactivate the licenses.

The IRIS License Server does not need to be operated on the server on which xSuite Bus Prism is installed. It just needs to be ensured that querying of xSuite Bus Prism license information is possible.
