Configured mask data is validated in the Mask Designer. When you save a mask or display it in preview mode, the mask dated will be validated automatically. If there is an error, some actions may be prevented.

The results of the validation will be displayed in the form of a list. The link in the title of an error message will lead to the area in which the incorrect or missing configuration value is located.

The technical functionality of a mask definition can only be tested in the preview view or in live operation, but not as part of an automatic validation. Validation is limited to checking the following basic properties:
